Zimbabwe batter Innocent Kaia copies KL Rahul’s celebration, image goes viral on Social Media
Innocent Kaia and Sikandar Raza hammered hundreds as Zimbabwe came back from a disastrous start to defeat Bangladesh by five wickets on Friday in the first match of a three-match ODI series. The hosts lost their openers Regis Chakabva and Tarisai Musakanda with just six runs on the scoreboard as they chased down a formidable target of 304.
The third Zimbabwe wicket had fallen after the home team reached just 62 runs. Raza and Kaia came together to put on 192 runs for the fourth wicket and set up a brilliant victory as Zimbabwe reached 307-5 with 10 balls to spare. Raza was unbeaten on 135, which included six sixes and eight fours, while Kaia struck two sixes and 11 fours in his 110 before being caught by Shoriful Islam at short fine leg.
“I thought Innocent was brilliant,” said man-of-the-match Raza of his teammate, who was playing in just his fourth ODI. “I was trying to back him and tell him that if we stayed together we can win this game. I wanted to calm him down and encourage him to play good shots instead of just trying to hit the ball too hard. Most of the chats we had were about me encouraging him and trying to steady his nerves as we chased a very formidable total,” he said.
Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal said: “We have been dropping catches regularly and getting away with it, but I knew that one day it would cost us and today was that day.

This celebration looks similar to the celebration of India’s premier batter KL Rahul. When Rahul did the celebration quite a lot in the Indian T20 league, many people were confused as to what it meant but the conclusion was that the person is only focused on scoring runs and is keen to put aside the outside noise and doesn’t think about the opinion of random people. Instead, the person focuses on the ultimate goal and that is to score runs for the team.
Innocent Kaia did the same and this reflects the batter’s tremendous journey from the Zimbabwe A side to the main Zimbabwe team. The image of the celebration has gone viral on social media.
