Zelina Vega has given her views as to why she should have won the  WWE Women’s Championship on the basis of her 9/11 narrative. The WWE star has done well in the circuit and unfortunately, she lost her father in an unfortunate accident that occurred during the attacks on September 11. She had two shots at becoming the Women’s World Champion but both times she could not get the prized title as she fell short. Vega challenged Rhea Ripley in Puerto Rico and IO Sky on Smackdown.

Both incidents happened a few months apart. Vega spoke about the event on its 22nd anniversary. Vega spoke to Busted Open Radio in an interview. She talked about whether the title should have gone to her purely on the basis of her incident which happened during 9/11. Vega has been on the circuit for some time and has made her presence felt with her fights in the ring on the wrestling circuit and has taken part in various events in WWE.

I want to get it because I deserve it – Zelina Vega

“I’d like to think that maybe part of it has to do with the fact that they wouldn’t want to do it just to do it because of the day, if that makes sense. You know, like I think either way, you’re gonna get ‘Oh, they only gave it to her because it’s 9/11 and they wanted to throw her a bone after blah, blah, blah happened’, or, ‘Oh, they gave it to her in Puerto Rico because she’s from there.’ I’d like to think that they wanted to give it to me because I deserve it, and that’s what I’m looking for… As much as it would be literally everything I could have wanted, I want to get it because I deserve it,” She said to Wrestling News. Co.

Vega has won the inaugural Queen’s Crown and also has a Women’s tag team Championship against her name. Vega would want to keep going at it so that the tide turns in her favour. She has improved leaps and bounds and will want to take the next step and win more laurels for herself so that she can keep her name flying high in the wrestling fraternity.
