India and Pakistan games are the heartbeats in both countries. The rivalry is one to die for and it always generates a lot of viewership. The clashes have been a very high-octane rivalry over the years. But due to the political standoff between the two countries, India and Pakistan have largely ended up playing at World events. India and Pakistan last played a bilateral series in 2013 in India.

The Asia Cup 2023 is likely to be played in Pakistan. The catch here is that India will not be travelling to Pakistan considering that Indian Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah had announced the same earlier that without government approval and the Asia Cup will likely be hosted in another venue.

If India and Pakistan make it to the final, then it will be held in UAE

Now, reports have come in that India would be playing their matches in the United Arab Emirates while the rest of the matches will take place as planned in Pakistan. If India and Pakistan, make it to the final then the final will be held in the UAE. The Asian Cricket Council had an emergency meeting in Bahrain recently to discuss the issue.

Pakistan Cricket Board chief Najam Sethi had pleaded for the meeting to be conducted because Pakistan was not given the designation of host for the tournament and the decision was taken unilaterally by Shah and Pakistan were not kept in the loop regarding the matter until the end. In the meeting, no solution was found to the problem. Australia and England have recently toured Pakistan.

Now, the sources at PCB have said that the only solution left for the tournament to go ahead is that India will play their matches in UAE, while the tournament and its other matches take place in Pakistan as well. The last edition of the Asia Cup was in the 20-20 format and was held in the UAE in which Sri Lanka were crowned champions of Asia.
