Babar Azam is one of Pakistan’s best players in world cricket. The Pakistan skipper is one of the best batters to watch when in full flow. Babar is fondly called the ‘King’ by his cricket-crazy followers in Pakistan. The captain has been in good form in the limited-overs series against New Zealand so far. In the two ODIs that he has starred in, the right-hander has scored 114 runs in two innings with a brilliant average of 57.

Babar has found a new follower in Speed, who is a big Cristiano Ronaldo fan. The star batter has wowed a lot of people with his wonderful stroke play over the years and Speed is one more that is added to the list of people following the Pakistan skipper. Babar has had great numbers in the Test and ODI format. In ODI’s he has racked up 4827 runs at an average of 59.36 and at a strike rate of 89.28.

Babar Azam has made 17 hundred in ODI cricket for Pakistan

When it comes to red-ball cricket, he has scored 3696 runs at an average of 48.63 and a strike rate of 55.02. The Pakistan captain has scored nine hundred in Tests and 17 centuries in ODIs. His go-to shot is the cover drive in international cricket. Babar’s cover drive has often drawn a lot of comparisons with Virat Kohli’s. Kane Williamson, in an interview with Harsha Bhogle on Cricbuzz, said that Babar has a very good cover drive that is pleasing to watch.

Pakistan and New Zealand are currently playing in an ODI series where the Men in Green have taken a 2-0 lead over the Blackcaps. In the T20I series that followed, it ended in a 2-2 stalemate. One of the T20 internationals was called off due to a hailstorm. Babar’s next task will be to ensure that Pakistan has a wonderful 50-over World Cup in India.

The Men in Green almost got their second 20-20 World Cup title in Australia. They were beaten by England in a closely fought final. Pakistan won an ODI World Cup in 1992 and will be gunning for their second one this year.
