‘Yeh toh bohot badi jeet hai’ – Fans react as India win third Test match against England by a huge margin
India’s bowlers got the upper hand as they were able to get wickets of England’s batter easily. For the first time in this Test series, England’s dressing room looked tense. India won the third Test match against England in Niranjan Shah Stadium, Rajkot. India won the third Test match by 434 runs. In the last innings of the match England batting collapsed as they were bowled out on 122 runs.
Earlier England’s pacer James Anderson stated that England’s team is capable of chasing 600 runs. But the Indian team restricted them to 122 runs from just 39.4 overs ball. England has no clue about Indian spinners as Ravindra Jadeja took fifer. Indian batters set a huge target of 557 runs thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s double century.
Sarfaraz Khan and Yashasvi Jaiswal put a solid partnership of 171 runs to help India set a lead of 557 runs. While chasing the target of 557 runs England had no idea about what was in their way. England got their first setback as Ben Duckett was run out. Later Jasprit Bumrah removed Zak Crawley.
Ravindra Jadeja dominates England
As Ravindra Jadeja was introduced into the match he broke the backbone of England’s time. Ravindra Jadeja’s first wicket came as Ollie Pope. Later he also took wicket of Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root who found himself in front of stumps. Ravindra Jadeja sends England’s middle order back to the pavilion. England wicketkeeper-batter was the next target of Ravindra Jadeja as he tried to cut the ball which was placed outside the off-stumps as Dhruv Jurel took the catch. At the score of 91 runs England were 9 wickets down when Mark Wood played a small cameo but failed to score against Jadeja’s bowling.
This is the fifth time England has lost a Test match in the Bazball era. This defeat is the second-biggest defeat in Test cricket history. With this win, India marks its biggest Test win in terms of runs. The Indian team lead the series by 2-1. The fourth Test match will be held in Ranchi on 23rd February.
