The Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) met at the Wankhede Stadium to battle it out on Saturday. The coin fell in favour of MI who opted to bowl first. PBKS did get off to a brisk start. Matthew Short made 11 off 10 balls with two fours before he was dismissed by Cameron Green. Prabhsimran Singh scored an entertaining 26 off 17 balls with one four and two sixes. Atharva Taide scored 29 off 17 balls with three fours and one six.

All these contributions kept the score ticking but PBKS were 83-4 at one stage which did not make good reading. The innings was resurrected by Sam Curran and Harpreet Singh Bhatia. The duo switched gears at the right time. They made the MI bowlers pay when they missed their lengths. Curran made a beautifully orchestrated 55 off 29 balls with five fours and four sixes. Bhatia provided him good company with 41 off 28 balls with four fours and two sixes.

Arshdeep Singh stars with spectacular 4-29

The two were particularly severe on Arjun Tendulkar in the 16th over. They carted him for 31 runs. In the end, Jitesh Sharma joined the party with some big striking. He cracked 25 off just 7 balls with four sixes to provide PBKS with the perfect finish. They ended on 214-8 in their 20 overs. Arjun, Jason Beherendorff,  Green and Jofra Archer were all taken to the cleaners.

In the second innings, the MI batters came out swinging. Rohit Sharma smashed 44 off 27 balls with four fours and three sixes. Ishan Kishan went early to Arshdeep Singh.  Green made a steady 67 off 43 balls with six fours and three sixes. Suryakumar Yadav was in his element as he smashed the PBKS bowlers and made a startling 57 off 28 balls with seven fours and three sixes. This kept MI on the hunt even in the end overs. Suryakumar was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh.

Nathan Elis and Arshdeep somehow bowled well to drag the game to the last over. Arshdeep had to defend 16 off 6 balls. He just gave away one run and castled Tilak Varma and also Nehal Wadhera. In the end, PBKS win by 13 runs and get two valuable points. Arshdeep picked up 4-29 in his four overs.
