‘Yeh kya farewell farewell laga rakha hai’- Fans get emotional as MS Dhoni drops hint on IPL 2023 being his last season

MS Dhoni received a grand reception at Kolkata as the CSK fans had turned up in enormous numbers at Eden Gardens. A normal sea of Purple and Gold in the stands became a sea of yellow. It was a very different sight at the Eden. The number of CSK jerseys outnumbered the number of KKR jerseys. It was a perfect game for CSK as they won by 49 runs.

After the game at the post-match presentation, MS Dhoni was moved by the adulation that he received from the cricket crazy fans in Kolkata. This is what he said.  “I will just say thanks for the support, they came in big numbers. Most of these guys will come in a KKR jersey next time. They are trying to give me a farewell, so thanks a lot to the crowd”. MS Dhoni was once again a master at work and made sure all the pieces fell in place for yet another CSK win.

MS Dhoni has led CSK to four IPL titles in CSK’s cherished history

When Dhoni used the word “farewell,” there would have been a teardrop from all Indian cricket fans. This would mean that he is hinting at the inevitable that this most certainly will be his last IPL. MS Dhoni has made sure that CSK has qualified for the playoffs 11 times in IPL history. He has also led them to four titles in IPL. CSK is one of the most successful franchises in the tournament.

The members of the CSK side will want to give MS Dhoni the most memorable farewell if what MS Dhoni said is true. CSK, by virtue of beating KKR, has climbed to the top of the points table in IPL 2023. The Yellove Army have 10 points with five wins and two losses from seven games so far in IPL 2023.

Ajinkya Rahane played like a Lion against KKR and scored a match-winning 71 off 29 balls with six fours and five sixes. The right-hander unlocked some new shots from his armoury He helped CSK get to 235-4 in their 20 overs. KKR were not up to the mark as they went down fighting.
