Arjun Tendulkar came into the game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Saturday after defending 20 off the last over against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the previous game. He made good use of the yorkers and also bowled a wonderful delivery to dismiss Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Things were different for him at the Wankhede Stadium though where he was immediately put under pressure. The left-armer started well and gave away 17 runs in his two overs and got the big wicket of Prabhsimran Singh.

But when he came back to bowl his third over, the batters put immediate pressure on him. Sam Curran smashed him for six off the first ball. Then Arjun Tendulkar came in and bowled wide under pressure. Curran threw his bat at the third ball and it flew over the third man for four off the outside edge. Then Harpreet Singh Bhatia hit Arjun straight down the ground for four. The misery was not over yet.

PBKS got to 214-8 in their 20 overs after they were 83-4 at one stage

He bowled a full toss off the fifth ball which was smashed for six. Then when he tried to bowl a full delivery the ball slipped off his hand. It was called a no-ball and it went for four. He bowled a short one for the free hit and got pulled for four past short fine leg. Arjun ended up giving away 31 runs in the over. This was the joint most expensive over in IPL 2023. Yash Dayal conceded the same number of runs against KKR.

PBKS staged a splendid recovery with batting heroics from Curran and Bhatia. Curran scored an impressive 55 off 29 balls with five fours and four sixes. Bhatia made 41 off 28 balls with four fours and two sixes. The finishing touch was given by Jitesh Sharma who made a lovely cameo of 25 runs off just seven balls with four sixes. PBKS at one stage were tottering at 83-4.

The Mumbai Indians bowlers were expensive and could not stop the onslaught from the PBKS batters. Arjun Tendulkar gave away 48 runs in his three overs. Jason Beherendorff conceded 41 runs in his three over spell. Even Jofra Archer was not spared and was taken to the cleaners.
