Although the conditions in Colombo are sunny at present, there are showers predicted during the start of the game. according to the Weather Channel. The weather has been very iffy in Colombo and 10 September which was the original day of the India-Pakistan clash had some play but it had to go into the reserve day. The games in Colombo had had a lot of delays and forced stoppages due to the weather and it has not been good for the players as well as the cricket fans.

The Asia Cup 2023 has the Sri Lankan leg remaining

The forcasr=t later in the day is not looking great as the storms would abate by 4:30 PM and there would be a brief lull till 7:30 but post that the rains would return again and there is no stopping them after.  According to the update, it is likely that the match will not be played today and both teams will end up with a point each. But on the other hand, if the weather holds good and India ends up playing the game, then their rest and recovery time would be very low.

The Men in Blue have a game against Sri Lanka on 12 September. If a full game against Pakistan is played it would be very tough on the Indian bowlers to come out and bowl again the next day. Sri Lankan Cricket and Bangladesh Cricket Board clarified that the stance on the reserve day for the India-Pakistan game was taken on behalf of all the boards and the ACC. Venkatesh Prasad also sent a tweet which said that the two boards are doing the wrong thing by letting the Indian Cricket Board dictate terms when it comes to scheduling.
