The 30th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) witnessed a thrilling contest between Lucknow Super Giant (LSG) and the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday, April 22. GT registered an epic victory by just 7 runs with the brilliant bowling performance.

Talking about the match, GT skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bat first. the pitch was so slow and the batters appeared to be in serious trouble as they couldn’t open their hands to hit some big shots. Wriddhiman Saha and captain Hardik stabilised the innings after losing Shubman Gill in the second over and put up a 68-run stand for the second wicket, although it took them 55 deliveries to do it, which significantly impacted their run rate.

Saha lost his wicket while trying to hit a six, and the wicketkeeper-batter hit six fours while scoring 47 runs off of 37 balls. Later, GT began losing wickets in a regular interval of time, but Hardik managed to secure one end by scoring 66 runs off 50 deliveries. He hit two fours in this responsible knock and helped the team to reach a fighting total of 134 runs.

Chasing the target, Kyle Mayers and LSG skipper KL Rahul provided a great start to the team and stitched a quick 55-run stand for the first wicket. However, later, Rashid Khan got rid of Mayers in the 7th over of the innings and then Rahul Joined hands with Krunal and kept the scoreboard ticking but both were batting quite slowly and the run rate was also increasing continuously.

And in the 15th over of the match, Afghanistan leg-spinner Noor Ahmed brought LSG back into the match by dismissing Krunal. After that, LSG’s inning took the worst turn as they were barely hitting any boundaries. Rahul notched up a quick fifty, but he looked completely out of place once he got there. Losing wickets from the other end didn’t help LSG’s cause either as the Titans stole the show when it mattered the most. Right from Noor Ahmad’s spell to Shami’s 19th over, and then Mohit Sharma bowling an exceptional final over as he defended 12 runs in that.
