‘Ye lo captain ne hi bol diya’ – Fans fume after Rohit Sharma asks Indian players to not take breaks during Indian T20 League
India lost their last bilateral series to Australia and ended their last series as a team on a sore note. The Men in Blue lost the ODI series to the Kangaroos 2-1. In Chennai, while the Indian bowlers did well to keep the Australians to 269 in their 49 overs, there was no standout contribution from the batters. Virat Kohli and Kl Rahul got starts but threw away their wickets at the wrong time.
With this series, done and dusted, the Indian players and others will be busy in the Indian T20 League. Here is what Rohit Sharma said on players taking breaks during the Indian T20 League. “I doubt if any player will take a break during IPL, it’s all up to franchises, they own them now but we have given some indications & more importantly it’s up to players as if they feel they are getting too much, they can take a break for 1 or 2 games”.
Deepak Chahar also had back injuries and just declared himself fit before the Indian T20 League
The Men in Blue keep playing cricket round the year. During the Indian T20 League there is little, or no chance of the Indian players Workload being monitored. As they are the main players in their franchises. For example, Rohit himself or Virat Kohli. Over the last few moths, many fans have blamed the National Cricket Academy for not conducting rehab properly or giving the wrong go ahead.
One of the biggest cases in point is Jasprit Bumrah. He was earlier given the green signal by the NCA to resume bowling, but Bumrah felt uncomfortable with his back. This led to his withdrawal from the New Zealand limited overs series and also the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Deepak Chahar also had back injuries and recently declared himself fit before the start of the Indian T20 League. Shreyas Iyer will miss the first phase of the Indian T20 League as per some reports. In a report from times of India, Iyer is expected to be out for 4-5 months.
The Indian T20 League will be played in the traditional home and away format throughout India. The games will be held in 12 venues. Chennai and Gujarat will square off in the first game. Gujarat won the Indian T20 League 2022 in their debut season under Hardik Pandya’s leadership.

Obviously BCCI itself won’t allow them to take break because IPL is the richest league and they wouldn’t afford to lose it

What happened to your workload management now? Shami, Siraj and others were rested from international matches for workload management but when it comes to IPL you are not sure? Key players are already out of world cup but IPL is still your top priority. Fuddu captain Fuddu player
