‘Ye dukh khatam kahe nahi hota hai be?’- Says Indian cricket Twitter after KL Rahul underperforms yet again
India faced an uphill task in the 2nd ODI after losing the first one against Bangladesh. The Men in Blue came out with a disappointing performance in the first match and lost by 1 wicket.
Many had hoped for a better performance in the second but things did not turn out much better. After Indian bowlers downed 6 of Bangladesh’s wickets at just 69 runs, there was an air of confidence in the team.
India’s bowling however took a similar course to that of the first ODI as they huffed and puffed but could not get another wicket. First-match hero, Mehidy Hasan (100) and Mahmadullah (77) combined to make a 148-run partnership and take Bangladesh to 217.
Hasan continued his rich vein of form and brought out an unbeaten century to post 271 runs on the board. India, who were without Rohit Sharma needed to bat vastly better than in the first match to get a win.
Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan opened the innings in the absence of Sharma but failed to perform as both were back in the dugout at just 13 runs. The game again fell on KL Rahul’s shoulders as he was tasked with taking the team through now that he was captaining the side as well.
The right-hand batter who played an anchor inning of 77 in the first ODI however failed to emulate his performance from the first match. Rahul who has been criticised for his lacklustre display in the recent past as he got out after playing a poor shot in the 19th over. In 28 balls Rahul made a paltry 14 runs and left the team in limbo.
Naturally, fans on social media reacted with strong words to his poor shot-making. As soon as he got out, KL Rahul started to trend on social media with many asking the Indian Cricket Board to drop the player along with giving Rahul an earful.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to KL Rahul’s poor performance against Bangladesh:
Me : KL Rahul will rise again.!

If Sanju Samson got half of chances what KL Rahul got, he would have become legend by now.
