‘Yahan bhi Kohli aur Dhoni ko gaali de raha hoga’- Fans react to teaser of upcoming podcast featuring Gautam Gambhir
Cricket aficionados are buzzing with anticipation for the next episode of ANI Editor-In-Chief, Smita Prakash’s podcast, featuring legendary Indian cricketer, Gautam Gambhir. Scheduled to premiere on Saturday, December 9 at 5 PM, the episode promises insightful conversations and captivating stories from the world of cricket. To pique the audience’s interest, a teaser has been released ahead of the full episode. This glimpse offers a captivating preview of the engaging discussions and insightful perspectives that await listeners.
Gautam was asked to share his views about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Indian dressing room following the team’s loss in the recent World Cup Final. Gambhir strongly condemned the use of the derogatory term “Panauti” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by some fans following the team’s World Cup final loss. “It is the worst word that could have been used against anyone, particularly a prime minister,” he said.
When asked to give details about the IPL 2023 controversy surrounding Naveen-Ul-Haq and Virat Kohli and his subsequent involvement, Gambhir said that he is not one to sit back and watch his players getting bullied. He added that as the team mentor, he had all the right to defend his players from the opposition.
He was also asked to share his views on his 97-run innings in the Final of the 2011 World Cup which people consider underrated. He firmly rejected the notion and the label, highlighting the inherent double standards held by those who downplay its significance. He believes that those who deem it underrated are simply the ones who don’t appreciate it enough. He also voiced his disappointment that Yuvraj Singh’s contributions to India’s 2011 World Cup victory haven’t received the same level of recognition and celebration as others involved. Gambhir attributed this disparity to Yuvraj’s lack of a strong public relations agency compared to some other players.
The 42-year-old also expressed his disapproval of broadcasters’ tendency to favour certain players over others. He accused them of acting as a “PR machinery” instead of offering objective and fair coverage of all players.
Here’s a look at how ‘X-verse’ reacted to the teaser of the podcast:
