‘Yaha mumbai k kam krwao bhai 4500 k ticket hai’ – Fans react as ticket prices reduce to 349 INR in Lucknow for Indian T20 League 2023
The Luckow franchise has had mixed results in the Indian T20 League so far. They had a commanding win over Delhi by 50 runs. Mark Wood was the star with the ball in that game for Lucknow. The tearaway England pacer bowled his heart out and picked up a five-wicket haul against the David Warner led side.
Wood had match-winning figures of 5-14 in his four overs. This helped Lucknow register a convincing win over Delhi. They played their first game at home at Ekana Stadium. The ticket prices in Lucknow’s games are comparatively low from Mumbai or Bangalore. Lucknow has reduced the starting prices of their home match tickets to 349 INR from 499 INR. Even though this step has been taken the crowd attendance was low for Lucknow in their first game.
Lucknow finished off in the top four in Indian T20 League in 2022
There is a stark difference across the country when it comes to ticket prices. In Bangalore, prices start from 2400 INR and upwards and in Mumbai prices start from 3000 INR and upwards. Whereas in Lucknow, the prices are relatively less expensive. This step of cutting the price further down was taken by the association to allow more fans to come and watch Lucknow’s games.
Meanwhile, Lucknow was very close, but could not come on the winning side against Chennai. The KL Rahul-led unit lost the game by 12 runs. Moeen Ali was the differentiating factor at the Chepauk. The off-spinner picked up a wicket in each of his four overs and turned the game around for Chennai. Moeen had exceptional figures of 4-26 in his four-over spell.
Lucknow had a very good debut season in Indian T20 League as they had a top-four finish. Yong guns like Moshin Khan did very well for them last season. Ayush Badoni showed glimpses of what he could do as well. The right-hand batter has followed that promise this season as well. Lucknow won nine games and lost five in 2022. They ended up with 18 points in the season.
Let us take a look at the reactions on Twitter:

Half of rhe stadium was empty in the last home match in Lucknow. People in UP do not have money to spend on such luxuries

Metropolitan cities income is much higher than people of Lucknow. In metropolitan cities most of the people are from the service sector working class and can afford to buy expensive tickets whereas in Lucknow it is not the same. Also the population as compared to others is < half

No one is interested 😂😂😂….. Weak looking environment, Jersey, players…. I think a team from guwahati would've made SENSE, strong crowd there. Need teams with good crowd interaction. I think only CSK, MI, KKR and RCB have good connection with social and in stadium
