India is currently playing a 2 Test match series in the West Indies. The Men in Blue won the first Test at Dominica in comprehensive fashion by an innings and 141 runs. They won the match on the back of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s heroics with the bat. The Mumbaikar played a wonderful innings of 171 off 387 balls with 16 fours and one six. Ravichandran Ashwin was sensational with the ball as well as he picked up 12 for 131 in the match to give India a 1-0 lead going to the second Test at Trinidad.

Meanwhile, there have been some reports that have come in saying, Andy Flower could replace Rahul Dravid as the head coach of the Indian Team post the 2023 World Cup. Former South African team analyst Prasanna Agoram tweeted about this. Andy Flower has coached Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League for two seasons in 2022 and 2023. Flower has parted ways with LSG and could become a coach of another franchise in North India. Flower was also a part of the Australia backroom staff during the World Test Championship final against India as a consultant.

Team India lost the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia and also the World Test Championship final in England

It will be interesting if the development materialises, considering that Dravid took over as the head coach of the Indian Cricket Team after the 2021 T20 World Cup debacle in the United Arab Emirates. Under Dravid and Rohit Sharma, things have not looked rosy for the Indian Team as they have not won a World event. The Men in Blue had two opportunities, one came at the T20 World Cup in 2022 in Australia and another at the WTC final in England.

When it comes to the Indian Test team, they are close to reaching a period of transition as they picked youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rururaj Gaikwad for the West Indies Tests. It will also be interesting to see whether Rohit Sharma would continue as India’s full-time Test skipper after the West Indies tour. Dravid was replaced as head coach after Ravi Shastri stepped down from the post after doing the role from 2017 till the 2021 T20 World Cup,
