Women’s 20-20 World Cup 2023: Three Indian players who can replace Smriti Mandhana against Pakistan

India will open their 20-20 World Cup 2023 campaign against Pakistan in South Africa. The Women in Blue will be looking to get off to a good start. They are slotted in Group B with the likes of Pakistan, Ireland, and two former champions of the tournament, West Indies and England.

Meanwhile, the 2020 finalists have been hit by an injury as star left-handed opener Smriti Mandhana sustained a finger injury. Now, let’s take a look at the potential replacements who can come in for Mandhana. The left-hander, Mandhana will be available from the game against the Maroon Brigade, West Indies.

Harleen Deol might get a chance at the top of the order in Mandhana’s absence. She has scored 245 runs in T20Is at a strike rate of 89.09 and an average of 17.50. Her highest score is 52 which also happens to be her only half-century. The youngster can also bowl part-time off-spin if required. She will be looking to do well in South Africa and get a permanent place in the side.
