Will Jacks stuns fans with his one-handed screamer on the edge of the boundary to dismiss Gerald Coetzee at SA20 2023

The 11th match of the SA20 took place between the Joburg Super Kings and the Pretoria Capitals. The Capitals won the toss and elected to bowl. The match took place at the Wanderers stadium in Johannesburg. Reeza Hendricks hit 45 off 50 balls with four fours and one six He was dismissed by Anrich Nortje. Faf du Plessis scored 27 off 16 balls with five fours. He was Nortje’s second scalp.

Leus du Plooy lit up the Wanders with his magnificent hitting. He scored an unbeaten 75 off 04 balls with seven fours and five sixes. At the other end, wickets fell steadily but even then,  thanks to the innings from the left-handed batter, the Super Kings made their way to 168-6 in their 20 overs.

In the Super Kings innings, there was a piece of brilliance that took place in the fourth ball of the 19th over. Eathan Bosch bowled to Gerald Coetzee. It was a full toss, Coetzee whipped the ball over mid-wicket, it looked like it would go for six, but Jacks took a stunner by running across from deep-mid wicket. He stretched his right hand and the ball struck.

When the catch was taken, it felt like Jacks had plucked the ball out of thin air. The commentators could not believe what had happened. Darren Sammy was commentating when the catch was taken and said ‘this is the catch that deserves a million’ on air. The packed crowd at the stadium were thoroughly entertained by that spell-binding moment.

Eathan Bosch picked up 3-12 in his three-over spell. He was the pick of the bowlers for the Capitals. Nortje picked up 2-16 in his four-over spell. In the second innings, the batters from the Capitals tried hard but could not get going. In the end, the Joburg Super Kings handed the Capitals a six-run defeat.

Phil Salt was the top scorer for his team as he at the top of the order scored 29 off 15 balls with four fours and one six. James Neesham made 24 of 16 balls with three sixes. He was the second-highest scorer. With the ball, Aaron Phangiso was the star for his side as he picked up 4-32 in his four-over spell.
