Babar Azam said in an interview that the Big Bash League is better than the Indian T20 League. He said the conditions in Australia are very fast. He said that Indian pitches are like that of Pakistan. The Indian T20 League is one of the top cricket leagues in the world. The League has been running since 2008.  The best cricketers in the world descend on Indian shores and take part in a two-month T20 extravaganza. After the season finishes, one team is crowned the champions.

The Big Bash is Australia’s T20 competition which runs on similar lines. It was established in 2011. The BBL had six state teams before, and in 2011 it became an eight-franchise tournament. The matches are played in December, January and February when the Australian summer takes place. The games in the Indian T20 League take place in April and May at the time of the Indian Summer.

The BBL had a bat flip in the league in place of a coin toss in Australia

The Indian T20 League is run by the Indian Cricket Board which is the richest cricket board in the world. It dictates such a big presence that all the main cricketing boards send their main players to play in the Indian T20 League. When the league is held, little or no international cricket takes place in the calendar. The top Indian players are available for the league and most of them captain their sides. The main difference between the ITL and the BBL is that the top Australian players do not play the full BBL season due to international cricket commitments.

The BBL has experimented a lot in terms of things like having a bat flip instead of a coin toss. The X-factor rule was also applied in the BBL. Teams would name a starting 14 instead of a starting 11. Two substitutes can be used and they were the X factors in a BBL game. The BBL also had a power surge rule which had a four-over powerplay instead of a six-over powerplay.
