The IPL 2023 is taking place in India. It has been a great tournament so far. There have been a lot of last-ball finishes which have kept the fans on the edge of their seats. This is the 16th edition of the league. The home and away format was back for this edition. The league is being played in 12 venues. The last three editions of the IPL have been played in the UAE and in Mumbai. The pitches in the 2023 edition have been very diverse in nature.

On the sidelines of the tournament, Rajinikanth and Kapil Dev met each other. A picture of the duo has gone viral. Rajinikanth is known to be an avid cricket fan. The famous film star had been to Mumbai to watch one of the games in the IPL 2023. Kolkata Knight Riders cricketers Varun Chakravarthy and Venkatesh Iyer recently met up with the legend and shared a wonderful fan-boy moment. Kapil has represented India for a long time.

He led the country to a World Cup win in 1983. Kapil has had a very distinguished cricketing career. The man from Chandigarh is the first fast-bowling all-rounder of note for India. The ‘Haryana Hurricane’ has made 3783 runs in the ODI format for India. He has one hundred and one five-wicket haul in ODIs. In the 50-over format he has also picked up 253 wickets with the ball. Kapil was fit as fiddle and has not missed a single Test match in his career while playing for the national side.

When it comes to the longer format, he had a much better career. The India all-rounder has amassed 5248 runs at an average of 31.05. When it came to bowling Kapil picked up a whopping 434 scalps in the red-ball format. He had a bowling average of 29.64 and has 23 five-wicket hauls to his name. Kapil is one of the greatest cricketers that India has produced. Kapil also made his presence fet in Hindi commentary.
