Pakistan suffered a Test series defeat against England after losing the 2nd Test match by 26 runs. With that win, England have continued their domination in the longest format of the game under Ben Stokes. Following the defeat in the second Test match, Pakistan’s head coach Saqlain Mushtaq and batting coach Mohammad Yusuf received a lot of criticism.

Former Pakistan cricketer and ex-chief selection, Mohsin Khan bashed Mushtaq for his comments after losing the second Test match. The former criticized the head coach for not pointing out the mistakes and instead, talked about the ‘consolation win’ in the third Test match.

“Instead of talking about where we are going wrong, he is now talking about a consolation win.

What sort of a coach is Saqlain?” said Mohsin on a Pakistani TV channel.

Batting coach, Mohammad Yusuf was also subjected to criticism for his remarks following the defeat. After being asked about the inconsistent performance of M Rizwan, Yusuf said that ‘he has no role to play in selection matters.’ His remark didn’t go down well with a lot of people, including former Pakistan skipper, Shahid Afridi.

“I think it was not a great answer from Yousuf and I feel Rizwan needs to be given a break and rested and Pakistan should bring in Sarfaraz Ahmed in his place for Test matches,” said Afridi on a TV channel.

England pacer, Mark Wood was the wrecker-in-chief during Pakistan’s second innings. His four-wicket haul helped England bundle out Pakistan for 238 runs and, thereby, register a hard-fought 26-run win in the second Test in Multan. With that win, England have taken an unassailable 2-0 win in the three-match Test series.

The third Test match is scheduled to be played from 17th December to 21st December 2022 at National Stadium in Karachi.
