‘What a knock from Faf Du Plessis’ – Twitter applauds Faf Du Plessis for a brilliant hundred against the Guyana Amazon Warriors
The 27th match of the Caribbean Premier League 2022 took place between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the St Lucia Kings. The St Lucia Kings won the toss and elected to bat first on a wicket at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The team took the first strike and made full use of the good batting conditions that were on offer. The batting for the St Lucia Kings was led by Faf Du Plessis who led from the front.
He has been in good form in T20 cricket, and he has continued his form from the Indian T20 League into the CPL he just plundered the bowlers to all parts and put them to the sword. The bowlers were pressed into submission and did not know what hit them. We have all seen how captaincy brings out the best of Faf Du Plessis as a batter and he proved it yet again while he was captaining the St Lucia Kings.
To be a captain is a very tough job as a good captain has to lead by example and has to show the way for his side and that is what Faf Plessis did. He scored a magnificent 103 from 59 deliveries, with ten boundaries and six hits which went over the fence. This put the Guyana Amazon Warriors bowlers under pressure as they ended up conceding a huge total of 194-5 to the St Lucia Kings.
Faf Du Plessis has been a big globetrotter and has played T20 cricket all over the world and he has set the bar high as a T20 player. He gets his runs with an absolutely no fuss approach and gets the maximum output just by playing good classical cricket shots which is the hallmark of Faf Du Plessis as a batsman in T20 cricket.
