‘West Indies be like – Humko mandir ka ghanta samajh k maaro’ – Fans react to India brushing aside Caribbean side by nine wickets
In the fourth T20I of the five-match series, West Indies took on India in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. Ahead of the game, the Maroon Brigade was leading the series by 2-1. On the other hand, the Men In Blue managed to keep the series alive after winning the third game in Guyana. Talking about the game, the home side, West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first.
They had a brisk start provided by Kyle Mayers (17) but his inning was ended by Arshdeep Singh. Brandon King (18) played steadily but Shai Hope took the attack. However, before the former could make it big, he became the second victim of Singh in the sixth over. In the next over, the Rovman Powell-led side was reduced to 57/4 as Kuldeep Yadav removed former skipper Nicholas Pooran and current skipper.
At this stage, Hope and Shimron Hetmyer put together 49 runs. The former scored 45 off 29 balls before being dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal. From 106/4, the team was reduced to 123/7. West Indies had no answer to the Indian openers’ onslaught
In reply, Shubman Gill showcased the kind of form he had before the World Test Championship final 2023 against Australia two months back. Since the IPL 2023, he hasn’t been able to score big runs apart from one half-century in the third ODI. On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made his Test debut in this tour, was playing his second T20I.
Both players put together 165 runs in just 15.3 overs, ending all hopes for the Caribbean side of their win. In the end, Gill scored 77 while Jaiswal got 84 not out and was adjudged Player of the Match. The team won the game by nine wickets and three overs to spare.

If we are talking about Tilak Varma in the scheme of ODIs, we should talk about Yashasvi Jaiswal too.

Yashasvi Jaiswal – the future of India…!!
An incredible innings of 84* (51) with 11 fours and 3 sixes. Just his 2nd T20i, but Jaiswal took the responsibilities and scored runs. Amazing temperament and abilities! pic.twitter.com/vkLtwkEWJk
