Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam notched his third T20I century in the second T20I match against New Zealand on Saturday at Lahore. He helped his team register a 38-run win over the victors and, thereby, take a 2-0 lead.

The Pakistan skipper smashed 101 runs in just 58 deliveries, a knock which was laced with 11 fours and 3 sixes.

Definitely, I am very happy to perform in this match,” said Azam. “I tried to stay till the end and play all overs and utilized the last few overs and we managed to get a good total.

“Our bowling line-up is excellent. We have got experienced bowlers and some exciting young bowlers.”

Babar Azam and M Rizwan set the foundation for a big score as the duo forged a 99-run stand for the opening wicket before the latter departed for the score of 50 off 34.

Wickets fell in quick succession after that as Pakistan had lost three more wickets in the space of 13 deliveries. However, Babar Azam held firm and stayed right till the end.

He reached his half-century in 36 balls and changed into the fifth gear after 15 overs. The Pakistan captain smashed two sixes and a four to Matt Henry to up the ante. He then smashed a six and two fours in the final over of Neesham to reach his hundred in just 58 balls, helping the team reach a mammoth score of 192 runs.
