But they will forever be remembered for changing the sport and the impact that they had on the sport as an individual.

There are two greats of Tennis, one is Roger Federer and the other is Rafael Nadal. While one is just unbeatable on the grass court, the other is the undisputed king on the clay court. Their storied rivalry has gone through eons of time and has swayed in favour of one over the other on numerous occasions.

The duo always battled it out on the Tennis court and gave it their all against each other. On the other side of it, they had immense respect and camaraderie on the Tennis court and also off it. Roger and Rafael Nadal are great friends off the field and have admired each other’s craft.

Roger Federer has called the curtains down on an illustrious career which signals the end of a timeline in the history of tennis and the most looked forward rivalry in the world of Tennis which is set to be closed. Rafael Nadal put out a teary-eyed tweet when it was announced that Roger Federer was going to take retirement from international Tennis and will play his last match on Monday. He will play doubles in the Laver Cup along with his longtime rival Rafael Nadal

This is what Rafael Nadal wrote in his tweet:

“Dear Roger, my friend and rival. I wish this day would have never come. It’s a sad day for me personally and for sports around the world. It’s been a pleasure but also an honor and privilege to share all these years with you, living so many amazing moments on and off the court,” he Spaniard tweeted.

“We will have many more moments to share together in the future, there are still lots of things to do together, we know that. For now, I truly wish you all the happiness with your wife, Mirka, your kids, your family and enjoy what’s ahead of you. I’ll see you in London @LaverCup,” he added in a follow up tweet.
