The 14th match of the Road Safety World Series was played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun between the India Legends and the England Legends. The England Legends won the toss and chose to bowl first. It was a shortened game of 15 overs a side due to rain. India Legends got off to a very good start, with Sachin Tendulkar and Naman Ojha providing a perfect platform.

Naman Ojha attacked the bowlers in his bright and breezy 20 from 17 balls with 2 fours and a six.  Sachin Tendulkar was in great form and brought out shades of his old self he toyed with the field setting, and then was quick to pick up the line and length of the ball. He played his vintage shots throughout his innings.

He played his trademark lap shot and took on the bowlers with aplomb and scored 40 from 20 balls, with 3 fours and 3 sixes. After the fall of Tendulkar’s wicket, there were good contributions from the other India Legends batters Yusuf Pathan, Yuvaraj Singh and Stuart Binny, who looked in the mood to hit big sixes and that is what they did. Yuvaraj hit 3 sixes and a boundary in his 31 from 15 balls, and Yusuf Pathan hit 3 sixes and 1 boundary in his quick-fire 27 from 11 balls.

Stuart Binny, too, impressed in his cameo of 18 from 11, hitting 2 fours and 1 six. S Parry was the pick of the England Legends as he scalped the wickets of Naman Ojha, Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan for just 19 runs in his 3-over spell.

The target was beyond the reach of the England Legends as they had to score 171 runs in 15 overs. The India Legends bowlers were right on the money. Stuart Binny, Pragyan Ojha and Manpreet Gony all picked up a wicket each but the star of the show with the ball was Rajesh Powar, who picked up 3 -12 in his three-over spell. He got the wickets of Mascarenhas, Phil Mustard and Tim Ambrose. In the end, it was a clinical win for the India Legends by 40 runs.
