Hyderabad FC got their first win in the Indian Super League (ISL) as they recorded a 3-0 win against NorthEast United at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, in Guwahati, on October 13, Thursday. Hyderabad FC thoroughly dominated the game and the goals were scored by Bartholomew Ogbeche, Halicharan Nazary, and substitute Borja Herrera, which helped the side come away with three points after their 3-3 draw in their last game against Mumbai City FC.

The coach Manolo Marquez was delighted with the win and said that he was very pleased with the overall performance put in by the team. He expressed his thoughts on the game in the press conference and said that it was a very hard game for his side in the end. The result does not say it all, but, on an overall basis, he felt that his side deserved the win.

“I don’t want to compare to the last season, because if we compare, we will always lose. But it’s true that last season, with not too much (attack in games) we could score a lot of goals. Even when the opponent was playing better, said Marquez in the post-match press conference.

More or less, I am happy with the performance: Marquez

“I remember one game against SC East Bengal that we had been winning 1-0, and they were continuously attacking in the first half. And two minutes towards the end of the first half, we scored the second and the third. Today more or less, we created a lot of chances. NorthEast United FC had some chances,” added Marquez.

“I remember one clear chance of the header from (Matt) Derbyshire. But more or less, I am happy with the performance in defence and in the attack,” said the Hyderabad coach. He also heaped praise on Manoj Mohammed, expressing that he can play at the ISL level and that he has shown what he is made of in the last game against Mumbai City and also in the game against NorthEast United.
