Watch:Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell battle it out in Bangalore nets ahead of Mumbai game
Bangalore’s preparations are in full swing to face Mumbai in their first game of the Indian T20 League 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy stadium. Bangalore will want to start their home leg on a winning note. Mumbai, on the other hand, has a good record on this ground. Mumbai’s head coach said that his side is not looking into the past.
The small boundaries have not helped the bowlers in any way. The Bangalore bowling unit has to get its straps right when it comes to bowling on the ground. Ahead of the game, Virat Kohli was seen batting against Glenn Maxwell in the nets. The former Bangalore skipper looked in good form as he was able to hit Maxwell with ease. He was seen playing some good shots against the off-spinner. Maxwell tried his best to get Kohli out, but he couldn’t.

Bangalore has made it to three Indian T20 League finals in 15 editions
Bangalore has not won the Indian T20 League trophy in 15 editions. The franchise, however, has made it to the playoffs in the last three seasons. The Bold Army has reached the finals on three occasions. Bangalore will hope to get some good wins at home in a packed home schedule. Bangalore head coach Sanjay Bangar said that the packed schedule will work in favour of the franchise. He said this in an interview in the Times of India.
Bangar further said that continuous games at the Chinnaswamy will allow the side to get into a rhythm in the early stages of the tournament. He further added that the home games being staged in April for Bangalore keep the weather out of the equation and there are higher chances of getting a result.
Bangalore has been hit by a few injuries. Josh Hazelwood will miss the first seven matches as reported earlier. Rajat Patidar is down with a heel injury and he has not gotten clearance from the NCA to play in the Indian T20 League. The franchise will also miss the services of Wanindu Hasaranaga till April 9. Bangalore will aim to break their drought of winning an Indian T20 League trophy.
