Virat Kohli and other Indian players were seen playing with a puppy ahead of their big clash against Pakistan in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2023. Along with Virat, the likes of Mohammed Shami, Mohammad Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna seemed to enjoy the little moment with the puppy. The video of the sweet moment has gone viral on the internet, as fans are enjoying the little moment.
The Indian players were in R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo for a practice session. As they were having a Football drill with each other, a puppy came and watched them practice. As Shami invited the puppy to join them, the puppy joined. The players who were in a circle and passing the ball amongst each other started playing with the puppy. The puppy seemed to be interested in the game as well.
As the puppy tried to tackle the ball, the players passed the ball amongst each other and kindled the puppy. Meanwhile, Virat started following the puppy in its direction. As the players passed the ball in a different direction, the puppy attempted to tackle it, but in vain. Hence, the puppy went away in a direction and disappeared from the screen, as the Indian players continued their practice.
Virat Kohli, a well-known animal advocate
The Indian star cricketer is known for his love of animals, especially pets. In 2019, Kohli was honored with PETA India’s Person of the year for his animal advocacy. In 2021, the former Indian captain started two animal shelters in Mumbai. One of them serves as a temporary refuge for the injured cats and dogs. The other one provides permanent shelter for animals with disabilities and chronic diseases in old age.
As India will take on Pakistan in the Super 4 stage, the form of its star batter will be so crucial for the chances. A reserve day is set for the match between India and Pakistan in case the result cannot come on the scheduled day due to rain.
