WATCH: Trent Boult takes stunning catch to dismiss Bas De Leede during ODI World Cup 2023

Amazing catch by the Kiwi veteran.

The second round of fixtures for the ODI World Cup 2023 began on Monday. New Zealand took on Hyderabad in the sixth game of the tournament. The Match was played in Hyderabad with the Kiwis looking to continue their winning run. Trent Boult pulled off an amazing catch during the Netherlands batting that is now going viral on social media.

The Dutch on the other hand had given an amazing show with the bat and ball against Pakistan. Despite losing the game Bas De Leede and Vikramjit Singh were the heroes for the men in orange.

For the second game in running, Kane Williamson did not take the field for New Zealand. Tom Latham continued as the skipper for the Kiwis just like the game against England. Scott Edwards won the toss and chose to bowl first to make use of better chasing conditions.

Bas De Leede falls thanks to Trent Boult’s amazing catch –

Rachin Ravindra was given the ball to bowl the 17th over and Bas De Leede was the batter facing him. The young left-arm spinner bowled a short ball as De Leede tried to hit the ball over long off-fence. Trent Boult was positioned perfectly as he settled under the ball to complete the catch.

The pace behind the stroke was such that Boult nearly hopped over the boundary cushions. The Kiwi veteran showed an amazing presence of mind to throw the ball back into the field and quickly came back to take the catch. Bas De Leede was out for 18 after facing 25 balls with the help of 3 fours.

Earlier put into bat, New Zealand scored 322/7 from their 50 overs. Will Young scored 70 runs from 80 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes in his knock. Devon Conway after his brilliant 152 not out could only score 32 on Monday. Rachin Ravindra continued his good form with the bat scoring run-a-ball 51.

Daryl Mitchell then upped the scoring rate to score 47-ball 48 runs with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Skipper Tom Latham was out for 53 which came off a mere 40 balls with 6 fours and a six. Mitchell Santner then swung the long handle to score 36 not out from just 17 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes.
