WATCH: Suryakumar Yadav’s heartwarming response to fans asking ‘Hamara Sanju Samson Kidhar Hai?

Sanju Samson has been one of those batters with a lot of talent and potential. Yet he has not been able to permanently seal a spot into the Indian ODI and T20I squads. He was initially named for the T20I series against Sri Lanka, but he was ruled out due to injury. Jitesh Sharma was named as his replacement.

The Third ODI was held at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram which was Samson’s home ground. The Kerala fans interacted with Suryakumar Yadav and questioned him on the whereabouts of Samson. Suryakumar’s heartwarming response made the fans swoon. In ODIs Samson has scored 330 runs from 11 games.

Suryakumar interacted with the fans when he was stationed near the boundary rope. A fan asked the right-handed batter, “Hamara Sanju kidhar hai (where is our Sanju)?”. In an immediate response, the 32-year-old pointed to his heart, which left the fans in admiration. The video has been doing the rounds on social media.

Suyakumar Yadav scored 170 runs in the T20I series against Sri Lanka

Suryakumar played in the third ODI. He could manage only 4 off 4 balls, but he had a wonderful T20I series against the men from the Emerald Isle. He scored 170 runs in three matches at an average of 85 and a strike rate of 175.25. He slammed his third T20I Hundred against Sri Lanka which was an unbeaten 112.

In the third ODI, India racked up runs against Sri Lanka by scoring 390-5. In reply, they bundled out the Islanders for just 73 in 22 overs. They recorded the biggest win in the history of ODI cricket by 317 runs. Virat Kohli scored 166 off 110 balls with 14 fours and two sixes. This was his 46th hundred in ODIs.

India won the T20I series 2-1 and the ODI series 3-0 against Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue will face New Zealand next in a three-match ODI series first and then the focus will shift to three T20Is. The last time that India played an ODI series against the Kiwis in New Zealand they lost 1-0.
