Suryakumar Yadav thanked the Indian Prime Minister and fans for standing by the team after the big loss against Australia in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023. India lost the final of the tournament by 6 wickets in front of a packed house at Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. The loss of India has not yet healed for the fans, who are struggling to get over the sad reality.
Yet, the Indian fans have maintained their decorum online in terms of backing the India team. After the loss, the fans of the team have backed the players to give their best in the upcoming tournament to bring the glory. It had enabled the players to remain motivated for their upcoming assignments, despite going through a tough period to digest the big loss themselves.
Suryakumar Yadav became the Indian captain in T20Is recently for the series against Australia. After the win of the home side in the first match of the series in Vishakhapatnam, the India captain thanked the supporters and the India PM for standing by the players in the difficult time. The aggressive batter thanked PM Modi for visiting the Indian dressing room after the final.
‘Wins and losses are part and parcel of the game’ – Suryakumar Yadav
The Indian captain echoed the statement of Narendra Modi and said that wins and losses are a part of life. The unorthodox batter added that they would be trying their best to play freely and continue the winning momentum to win the T20 World Cup 2024, which is set to take place next year in the West Indies and the USA. Yadav urged the fans to keep on supporting the team.
The Indian cricketer said that it meant a big deal for the players to get encouragement from the leader of an entire nation like Narendra Modi. Yadav thanked Modi for inspiring the players in the dressing room. Suryakumar said that the 6-7 minutes of speech from Modi in the dressing room lifted the spirits of the players in the dressing room. Yadav helped India to win the first match of the series against Australia.
