Team India continued their incredible run in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 with a 5-run win over Bangladesh on November 2, Wednesday. During the game, at one stage it seemed like Bangladesh will take the match away from India. However, the Men in Blue made a remarkable comeback after the rain delay and took one step ahead towards a semi-final spot. Meanwhile, a video from the match where Suryakumar Yadav is seen asking the crowd to chant ‘India-India’ has been going viral on social media.

In the video, the star batter is seen pointing towards ‘INDIA’ written on his jersey and makes a gesture of listening to the crowd by bringing his hand around his ear to signal the chant he wants to hear.

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and elected to field first at the Adelaide Oval. India scored 184/6 in their allotted 20 overs courtesy of half-centuries from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.

Bangladesh were ahead of DLS as rain stopped play after 7 overs

In reply to India’s total, Bangladesh got off to a flyer as Litton Das smashed the Indian bowlers all around the park. Bangladesh were cruising after 7 overs as they were 66/0 courtesy of a 21-ball half-century from Litton Das. The rain came pouring down and Bangladesh were 17 runs ahead of the DLS par score which meant that Bangladesh would’ve been announced as winners if no further play was possible.

The entire Indian dugout looked frantic as the rain continued to sweep over the entire stadium. However, the rain gods answered the prayers of Indian fans and the play resumed with the match shortened to 16 overs and Bangladesh were given a target of 151 to chase. It took India just two balls to send the dangerous Litton Das back into the pavilion as KL Rahul inflicted a run-out with his direct hit. He scored a magnificent 60 off 27 balls to give his team a blistering start.

Das’ wicket brought a flurry of dismissals for India as they made a strong comeback into the match with Bangladesh going from 68/0 to 108/6 in a space of 35 balls. Nurul Hasan and Taskin Ahmed tried their best to take their team home with their cameos but eventually fell 5 runs short of India’s total. Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya picked up two wickets each for India. Virat Kohli was awarded ‘Player of the Match’ for his innings of 64 off 44 balls.
