England and New Zealand are fighting it out in the second Test match of the two-match Test series. England scored 435-8 in the first innings on the back of Joe Root’s 153 off 224 balls with 10 fours and three sixes and Harry Brook’s 186 off 176 balls with 24 fours and five sixes. Matt Henry was New Zealand’s best bowler as he picked up 4-100 in the first innings in 22.1 overs.
Over the course of the match, a funny incident happened as a security guard was seen vibing to the songs and tunes of England’s Barmy Army who were singing in high-pitched voices and with great enthusiasm which the guard enjoyed with great fervour. The guard was seated in the stadium and was thoroughly entertained by the act put up by the Barmy Army. New Zealand were dismissed for 209-10 in the first innings, and They had to follow on going into the second innings.

In the second innings, the Kiwis made 483-10 due to performances from Tom Latham who scored 83 off 172 balls with 11 fours. Devon Conway made 61 off 155 balls with eight fours and one six. Kane Willamson made 132 off 282 balls with 12 fours. Daryl Mitchell made 54 off 54 balls with five fours and one six. Tom Blundell made 90 off 166 balls with nine fours.
In the end, New Zealand set England a target of 258 runs in the fourth innings, At the end of Day 4, England ended proceedings on 48-1. Zak Crawley made 24 off 30 balls with five fours before he was dismissed by Tim Southee. Ben Duckett and Ollie Robinson were batting on 23 off 29 balls with one four and one six and 1 off 7 balls at stumps on Day 4. England need 210 runs on Day 5 to win the two-Test match series 2-0.
The Test Championship final will be held in England in June. It will happen at the Oval almost immediately after the conclusion of the Indian T20 League. India and Australia are playing a four-match Test series in which India is leading 2-0. Both teams are primed to make it to the finals of the Test Championship.
