Adelaide Strikers began their BBL 2022-23 campaign with a 51-run win over Sydney Sixers.

The much-anticipated Big Bash League 2022 tournament is underway and the fans are enjoying every bit of that. The second match between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers took place at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday. Adelaide Oval earned their first points by beating Sydney Sixers by 51 runs. The Strikers batted first and managed to score a formidable 184-run total in the first innings.

Coming in at number four, Adam Hose played a terrific knock of 40 runs in 22 deliveries, including 3 fours and 2 sixes. One six that he hit in the 18th over grabbed eyeballs.

Dwarshuis bowled a slower delivery around the off stumps but Hose moved across, sat down, and swept over square leg for a maximum. An old mate sitting in the stands also stole the limelight as went on to take an outstanding catch, leaving the commentators mighty impressed.

Earlier, D Short played an outstanding knock of 84 runs in 53 balls, while opening the innings for the team. His knock was laced with 11 fours and 2 sixes while playing at a strike rate of 153.49. Chris Lynn also gave him valuable support with a handy knock of 41 runs in 34 deliveries. Thanks to those three crucial contributions, the Strikers notched a formidable score of 184 in 20 overs

In reply, Sydney Sixers could only muster 133 runs, thereby losing the game by a massive margin of 51 runs. Jordan Silk top-scored for the team, amassing 36 in 25 deliveries. As for the Adelaide Strikers’ bowling unit, Henry Thornton was the wrecker-in-chief as he claimed four wickets for just 20 runs in 4 overs. Rashid Khan has begun his campaign with a stellar spell of 3 for 21 in 4 overs.
