WATCH: Snake makes its appearance at LPL 2023, Isuru Udana survives lucky escape
In a week’s interval, the snake made its presence felt yet again in the Lanka Premier League (LPL). It was spotted in the game between Jaffna Kings (JFK) and B-Love Kandy (BLK). Isuru Udana was seen near the snake and had a lucky escape with it. A big snake was spotted beyond the boundary rope as a user posted a clip of it with the caption, ‘It’s snaking around in Colombo.’

During an earlier game between Galle Titans and Dambulla Aura in Colombo, the snake came on the field and the match was halted for a brief bit. Former cricketers Dinesh Karthik and Scott Styris had a laugh at the incident, with the Kathik tweeting, ‘The nagin is back. I thought it was in Bangladesh.’ Coming to the match between JFK and BLK. BLK won the toss and opted to bat. The Pakistan import Mohammad Haris smashed 81 off 51 balls with 10 fours and two sixes.

It was a great innings, he was the highest scorer for his side. The next highest scorers were Fakhar Zaman and Angelo Mathews who both scored 22. Nuwan Thushara picked up 3-31 in his four-over spell for JFK. Dunith Wellalage took 2-43 in his four overs. Dilshan Madhushanka picked up 2-31 in his four overs spell. BLK made it to 178-8 in their 20 overs. In the second innings, JFK got off to the worst possible start as they lost Nishan Mashushka and Rahmanullah Gurbaz with the score at 10.
Chris Lynn brought his side back into the contest with 27 off 26 balls with four fours and one six, There was also some hitting from David Miller and Thishara Perera down the order. Miller made 24 off 16 balls with four fours. Perera made 36 off 20 balls with two fours and two sixes. Shoaib Malik slammed an unbeaten 55 off 37 balls with four fours and one six.
But it was not enough in the end as there was some great display of death bowling from BLK. This meant that they won a tight encounter by just 8 runs and took two points from the game.
