Simon Doull took social media by storm for criticising batter Babar Azam as he felt the Pakistan captain valued ‘personal milestones’ ahead of the team’s interests. Doull had criticised Babar for batting slowly when he neared the hundred mark and instead should have scored quickly.

This comment from Doull led him to receive a lot of online abuse. Another reason why Doull is trending on social media is that he made a cheeky comment which was directed at Hasan Ali’s wife. Samiyaa Arzoo was cheering for Islamabad United in the game against United and Multan Sultans.

United won a high-scoring thriller against Sultans where they chased down 206 runs in 19.5 overs Doull said on air, “She has won it. She has won a few hearts as well, I believe. That is superb, absolutely stunning. And the victory.” Doull’s co-commentator can be heard laughing at the comment. The way he was commenting it seemed that he was spellbound by Hasan Ali’s wife for a bit.

The Pakistan Super League has been churning out some wonderful contests which have kept the fans in Pakistan on the edge of their seats. Some time back, the key battle was between Babar and Haris Rauf in a game where Haris dismissed Babar after he said it was his dream to get Babar’s wicket. The League has been a balm for Pakistan who have experienced a lot of economic hardships recently.
