Young Indian Women’s cricket talent, Shreyanka Patil has been in amazing form recently. The 21-year-old has been bowling well for her side Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League. The three-team tournament has seen Guyana solidify its place at number two in the table.

Guyana Amazon Warriors women were facing off against Trinbago Knight Riders Women. Trinbago had just won a single game in the tournament so far and was in dire straits. Deandra Dottin the Trinbago skipper won the toss and chose to bat first. The result was an easy win for Guyana as the Knight Riders were all out for a mere 72.

Classic Off-Spinner’s Dismissal by Shreyanka Patil

21-year-old Shreyanka Patil has captured the imagination of fans with her amazing bowling. The off-spinner had picked 6 wickets from her first three games with a best of 4/34 against Barbados Royals. In the game against Trinbago Knight Riders, the young Indian star had already picked the wicket of Zaida James for 3. Patil then bowled one wide to Samara Ramnath as the batter went for a flowing drive. The ball turned back in sharply to bowl the number 11 through her gates for a duck.

Opting to bat first, Trinbago never got going with the bat as the Guyana bowlers kept things under check. Deandra Dottin was the lone bright spark with the bat for the Knight Riders. Dottin scored 25 off 21 balls with 2 fours and a six. Kycia Knight was the only other batter to reach double figures as she scored 13 off 22 balls with a single four. Karishma Ramharack was the lead wicket-taker for Guyana with 3/12 from her 4 overs. Shreyanka Patil had figures of 2/10 from her four overs, while Sophie Devine, Shakera Salman, and Sheneta Grimmond picked a wicket each.

Chasing 73 to win, Guyana broke no sweat as they got the total with 9 wickets and 12.3 overs to spare. Devine top scored with 38 off 19 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Fellow opener Suzie Bates scored run-a-ball 18 with 2 fours before falling to Deandra Dottin. Captain Stephanie Taylor then hit the winning runs with a six as she stayed not out on 17 off 8 balls with 2 fours and a six.
