Shreyanka Patil bowled a stunning delivery to dismiss Britney Copper in the 4th match of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League 2023. On a slow wicket in Trinidad, Guyana Amazon Warriors Women won the toss and elected to bat first. In their first innings, GAW women managed to score 132 runs and lost 10 wickets. Sophie Devine scored 48(39) for GAW women.
Chasing the target, Trinbago Knight Riders women never looked in the game. They consistently lost wickets at regular intervals and were on the back foot throughout the match. Shreyanka bowled well throughout the match and impressed everyone with her bowling. In her 4 overs, Patil claimed 2 wickets and conceded only 15 runs. Her spell was instrumental in the win of GAW women.
In her spell, the right-arm off-spinner bowled some cracking deliveries. One such delivery got rid of Britney Copper. It was a traditional off-spin delivery from Patil. The ball spun hugely from the wide of off stump and hit the middle and leg stump of the batter, who was completely stunned. The 21-year-old enjoyed it and celebrated the wicket. The delivery was praised by the fans and commentators.
Shreyanka is the first Indian cricketer to play a match in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League. So far, Patil has had a fantastic tournament for the Guyana Amazon Warriors women. In her second game, Patil became the first bowler to claim a 4-wicket haul in the history of the tournament. In the third game of the tournament, Patil claimed 2/15 against Trinbago Knight Riders women.
GAW women have a big challenge ahead of them. In order to qualify for the final, the Warriors must win their last match of the league against the Knight Riders. The contribution of Patil will be crucial for the success of GAW women. So far in the tournament, Patil has been the highest wicket taker with 6 wickets in 3 innings at a bowling average of 11.67, at a bowling strike rate of 10.00, at an economy of 7.00.
