Watch: Sanju Samson and MS Dhoni fine tune their skills ahead of CSK vs RR clash in IPL 2023
The Indian Premier League has got off to a fine start. The matches have been nail-biting thrillers which have led fans into getting super excited for the matches. Truly, the IPL 2023 is not for the faint-hearted. It is back in its crazy avatar and delivering T20 classics like it always does. This is the beauty of the tournament. It keeps on getting better and better.
The Gujarat Titans and the Kolkata Knight Riders played out an absolutely crazy contest at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Then Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants battled it out in a last-ball finish where LSG beat RCB by one wicket. Meanwhile, ahead of the clash between the Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, the franchise posted a video of Sanju Samson and MS Dhoni hitting it out in the nets.

Gujarat Titans won IPL 2022 in their debut season
In the video, they were hitting some well-timed shots and some big sixes in the nets. The two were practising at adjacent nets. If the two stroke makers are in full flow then it could well be a high-scoring run-fest at the Chepauk as seen in the game against CSK and LSG, where CSK won a high-scoring encounter by 12 runs. LSG is currently sitting on top of the IPL points table.
CSK and RR have had some memorable encounters in the past. In 2019, an umpiring decision on the pitch prompted MS Dhoni to lose his cool and walk onto the pitch. He was very riled up and that incident showed that he was human and that the ‘Captain Cool’ tag did not suit him in that particular instance.
The IPL will be played in 12 venues and will take place all over India. The home-and-away format is back this season. This is the 16th edition of the tournament. Gujarat Titans and LSG joined the league in 2022. This made it into a 10-team tournament from an 8-team tournament. GT lifted an IPL trophy in their maiden season.
