Will Kuldeep Yadav get a chance in 2nd Test

Ravindra Jadeja injured his knee during India’s Asia Cup 2022 campaign and was out of action for almost 5 months. But he made his comeback in the first Test match against Australia and performed exceptionally well as he picked up a fifer and also smashed a half-century. He was named Player of the match for his all-round performance. Jadeja was the highest wicket-taker during Australia’s last tour of India in 2016-17, which India won 2-1. He has scalped 70 wickets in 13 Tests, including four five-wicket hauls, against the Australian Team.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep did not get a chance in the playing XI for the first Test. However, he is in great form but still finding it difficult to get a chance in the second Test as well. Kuldeep has played 8 Test matches for India so far in which he has taken 34 wickets. He has also done the feat of taking five wickets in three innings.

Despite such a good record, Kuldeep has been left out of the Test team due to off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and all-rounder Jadeja. The visitors are all through to the World Test Championship final while the Rohit Sharma-led side have some work to do to get themselves into the summit clash which is set to take place at the Oval in London in June.
