The world cricket is all in praise of India’s stand-in skipper and the senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah. The man who is known for troubling the strongest batting lineups with this bowl has created a world record with the bat. He achieved this milestone while he was batting in the first inning during the rescheduled fifth Test match against England. He hit 29 runs in the over against Stuart Broad.

Following his world record, many cricket experts and former cricketers have heaped their praises on the Indian skipper. This list has been joined by former Indian head coach and remarkable cricket commentator Ravi Shastri.

Ravi Shastri praised the style of batting displayed by the 28-year-old against the senior English pacer Stuart Broad. To note, Ravi Shastri was in the commentary box when Yuvraj Smashed six sixes in an over of Stuart Broad 15 years back during the T20 World Cup of 2007.

I thought I’d seen it all, but not really – Ravi Shastri

The 60-year-old has witnessed numerous historic occasions for India while he gave his voice to those moments from the commentary box. He has also expressed his happiness about Bumrah’s world record against Stuart Broad.

“Now, don’t tell me, I was again on the mic when 35 runs were scored. I thought I’d seen it all, but not really. You know, 36 from Yuvraj. 36 I’d hit myself. And today what I saw was bizarre. It’s something you would have never imagined a world record from just Bumrah batting at number ten as captain of India for the first time. Going past Lara, George Bailey Keshav Maharaj. 29 of the over, the bowler was the same who Yuvraj hit for six sixes, Stuart Broad going for that money, and the entire over went for 35, which is again a world record. Previous highest for 28,” Shastri can be heard as saying in a video posted by BCCI.

Here’s the video:

“So, you feel you’ve seen everything. But you must realize there is still a student in the game. Something will surprise you on another day. But what I saw today was something absolutely bizarre. Just premiere breaking the world record award of getting29 of his back in a 35 run over,” He added later.
