Rafael Nadal, the Spaniard missed most of the matches in 2020 due to the pandemic. The tennis star sustained injuries in 2021 and missed many events failing to recover on time. He pulled out of Wimbledon this year, once again due to injury. However, he has now put an end to all the fuss and has announced his arrival in style.

The Spaniard has hit the court ahead of the US Open 2022 which is set to begin on Monday. The last time he participated in the US Open was in 2019, and he went on to win the title for the fourth time. Amid speculations regarding his injury, a video of the veteran is now surfacing on social media putting a full stop to those speculations. The 36-year-old defeated Daniil Medvedev last time in the final of the US Open and would look to clinch the title for a record fifth time this year.

The video of him sweating it hard at the Arthur Ashe stadium was shared by Delfina Novillo and it went viral. One of the fans on Twitter shared the video and said that their hero was doing well.

Hey Rafa, call down with your foot on that second forehand. Our guy is feeling good !!! : @DelfiNovillo via IG,” the user tweeted.’

Here is the video

An interesting fact about the legend is that he and Novak Djokovic have surpassed Roger Federer in the number of major trophies won with 22 and 21 to their names. The Spaniard will look to do his best to make the most out of the US Open. Another interesting fact is that a title here might add him to the list of those with the most number of US Open titles. He might join the prestigious list of Swiss legends Roger Federer and Pete Sampras.

Rafael Nadal is a fighter, who has sustained injuries in the past and found his way back to the arena. He might fight back in the US Open and might roar to lift the trophy for a record fifth time.
