Following the conclusion of the 20-20 World Cup in 2022, England and Australia are competing in a three-match One-Day International series. The first game is currently being played at the Adelaide Oval. Australia got off to a great start, bowling first and taking early wickets at regular intervals.

While Dawid Malan played a solid knock to complete his century, other batters could not do much. However, one of the funniest moments of the match came in the 37th over of the first innings. Pat Cummins, Australia’s captain, wanted to take a DRS for an LBW against Chris Jordan, but he was in a complete dilemma. This accounted for a hilarious moment.

He was about to take the review but decided not to use it after a discussion with wicketkeeper Alex Carey. As he turned back to return to his fielding position, out of nowhere, he decided to take the review. As it turns out, his review was not successful. Only a couple of balls later in the same over, Adam Zampa finally dismissed Jordan.

In the meantime, England continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, putting them under a lot of pressure. Only Dawid Malan, batting third, kept the innings together. He scored a brilliant century to get his team in a good situation. He ended his innings with a score of 134 runs in 128 balls, with 12 fours and four sixes.

Adam Zampa has been in outstanding form with the ball for Australia. In his 10-over spell, he took three wickets while conceding 55 runs. Skipper Pat Cummins also took three wickets in the game, while Marcus Stoinis and Mitchell Starc each took one. At the end of the first innings, England managed to score 287/9.

The series’ T20I leg was played ahead of the 20-20 World Cup. The team led by Jos Buttler won the first two matches with a margin of eight runs, with the third match called off due to rain.
