Olie Robinson produced a pin-point yorker to get rid of Usman Khawaja at the Ashes. It was a cracking yorker from Robinson which came slanted from around the wicket. Khawaja dances down the pitch in a premeditated fashion. He tries to squeeze the yorker past third man but misses. The off stump has been disturbed and it was a huge celebration from Robinson. Khawaja however will have good reason to be satisfied with his knock.

Here is the video:

The left-hander played a knock which will be remembered for the ages. He made a stupendous 141 off 321 balls which was studded with 14 fours and three sixes. This was Khawaja’s maiden Test ton in England. Before that he had a very forlorn average here. The 36-year-old also said that this could be his last Ashes. He also said that he cherished the century as he had his family come down to England and stay over.

Australia ended their innings at 386 all out seven short of England’s total

There were also voracious boo’s from the England crowd who were making life difficult for Khawaja but he came through it all and ended up unscathed. The Test match at Edgbaston has been a riveting one so far.  England made their way to 393-8 before a surprise declaration. Joe Root held the England innings together with a sublime unbeaten 118 off 152 balls with seven fours and four sixes. Zak Crawley was good at the top of the order too.

The right-handed batter scored 61 off 73 balls with seven fours. Jonny Bairstow also supported Root with a valuable 78 off 78 balls with 12 fours. In the second innings, Khawaja had support from Travis Head who made an entertaining 50 off 63 balls with eight fours and one six. Alex Carey came down the order and forged an important partnership with Khawaja, the keeper-batter made a priceless 66 off 99 balls with 10 fours and one six.

Meanwhile Australia ended up 7 short of England’s total of 293. The Lower order of the Kangaroos could not contain England’s short ball barrage. Robinson and Stuart Broad picked up three wickets each. It looks like England declaring early could haunt them. This match has turned into a second innings battle.
