Indian head coach Rahul Dravid was spotted having a conversation with Bangladesh wicketkeeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim ahead of second Bangladesh vs India Test. Rahim failed to make an impact in the first Test of the series scoring just 28 and 23 runs in the first and second innings respectively.

Rahim also struggled in the ODI series between the two sides before the Test matches. The 35-year-old only managed to score 18, 12 and 7 runs in the three-match ODI series respectively. The wicketkeeper batter will have one last chance to live up to his reputation in the second Test against India. He was seen discussing the nuances of batting with Dravid in the nets.

Rahim had a lengthy chat with Rahul Dravid during a practice session in Mirpur on Tuesday. Dravid was seen explaining something to Mushfiqur using multiple hand gestures to give him advice on how to tackle bowlers. The duo was seen embracing towards the end of the video as a token of appreciation from the Bangladeshi player.

Rohit Sharma to miss the second Test as well

India are leading the two-match Test series by 1-0. They will be hoping to continue their winning momentum and whitewash Bangladesh in the Tests after they lost the ODI series by 1-2. A victory in the second Test will strengthen India’s chances of qualifying for the World Test Championship final. India are currently ranked on the second position in the points table having a points percentage of 55.77 percent. After Bangladesh, India are slated to play a four-match Test series against Australia at home.

Regular captain Rohit Sharma will be missing the second Test as well as he failed to recover from a thumb injury that he sustained in the second ODI against Bangladesh. KL Rahul will continue to lead the side in his absence with Cheteshwar Pujara as his deputy. Navdeep Saini has also been ruled out of the second Test match due to an abdominal muscle strain. The second Test match will start on December 22, 9:00 am IST at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium.
