The ice-cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni will soon be back in action, as he will turn to the Chennai Super Kings in the 17th season of the biggest T20 extravaganza, which is the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dhoni had a good run in IPL 2023 as he delivered impactful performances for his side, ending with a tally of 104 runs which were scored at a blistering strike rate of 182.46. He also led Chennai Super Kings to their fifth IPL title, proving that he is still as sharp as some of the younger cricketers, or even sharper.

Post the season, Dhoni announced that he would return for IPL 2024 in a bid to give back to the fans who had showered so much love on him throughout the season. As such, fans are eagerly awaiting the start of the IPL and they will hope that they get to see him in top-notch form. CSK fans will also wish for him to win another title as captain to become the most successful leader in the history of the tournament.

Having undergone knee surgery, it remains to be seen if 2024 will mark Dhoni’s last appearance in the IPL or if he has a few more years left in him.

Captain Cool smokes Hookah at an event

In a recent video that has gone absolutely viral, MS Dhoni can be seen smoking a hookah. The video seems to be from a recent event as Dhoni is dressed up in an elegant suit. In the aftermath of the video going viral, yet another video with a link to the former has also gained significant traction. This is an old video in which Dhoni’s former CSK teammate, George Bailey revealed that the World Cup-winning captain likes indulging in a bit of hookah and sheesha.

“He likes smoking a bit of the sheesha or the hookah. So, he quite often would set that up in his room, and it was very much an open-door policy. You would go in and quite often find a lot of younger players there. For India or a lot of other cricket teams, it can be hierarchical, but he certainly broke that down,” Bailey was quoted as saying by India Today.
