WATCH: Moin Khan sends fiery message to Indian management, says they can’t rule over other boards extortion of money
The Indian Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board have been at loggerhead for some time now. This is due to controversy surrounding the 2023 Asia Cup, scheduled to held in Pakistan. Jay Shah had, earlier, issued a statement that the tournament will be held at a neutral venue.
This statement angered the top brass at the PCB. They retaliated by saying that if India cannot come to the Asia Cup in Pakistan, then the Men in Green will not come to India for the ODI World Cup.
Moin Khan has now added more fuel to the fire after he put out his thoughts on the ongoing issue. He emphasized that if India would not make it to Pakistan and play in the Asia Cup, then Pakistan should do the same and not play the ODI World Cup in India. Incidentally, the PCB had suggested that India play their games in a neutral venue which could be England, Oman, Sri Lanka or the UAE.

Pakistan should not go to the World Cup – Moin Khan
“If India does not come to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup, then Pakistan should not go either for the World Cup. I think the Pakistan Cricket Board should oppose this.” He went on to say, “India cannot impose its will on other cricket boards by extortion of money. Cricket should be played, and for this, there should be a discussion in the boards of India and Pakistan.” Moin said in an address to the press.
India and Pakistan do not play each other in bilateral series. The last time India and Pakistan played against each other in a bilateral series was in 2012-13. Pakistan had won the T20Is 2-0 and the ODIs 2-1. India and Pakistan mostly play against each other in events conducted by Cricket Governing Body. India have had the edge over Pakistan in World Cups. But when it comes to ODI’s and Tests in bilaterals, Pakistan have the edge. The Men in Green have also fared better than the Men in Blue in Sharjah.
