After the end of the 20-20 World Cup 2022, England and Australia are competing in a three-match ODI series. The first match is currently underway at the Adelaide Oval. Bowling first, Australia had the perfect start as they got a couple of early wickets.

Bowling the fifth over of the match, Mitchell Starc gave England their second blow of the match with Jason Roy‘s wicket. Roy was unsure whether to go forward or back after Starc bowled a brilliant inswinger on a good length. Roy was all over this one after he pushed it with hard hands and the balls sneaked past the inside edge between bat and pad to hit the stumps. This delivery was also slightly lower than previous deliveries.

The T20I leg of the series was played ahead of the 20-20 World Cup. The team led by Jos Buttler won the first two matches by eight runs each, while the third match was called off due to rain. After that, the three Lions continued their excellent form in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 as well.

The team managed to reach the finals at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to play against Pakistan. They defeated the Men in Green by five wickets thanks to Sam Curran’s brilliant bowling and Ben Stokes’ brave half-century. With this, England became the first team to hold the ODI World Cup and the 20-20 World Cup at the same time.
