Kuldeep Yadav weaved his magic again with the ball as India A trounced New Zealand A in the second unofficial one day game against New Zealand A. Off note, Kuldeep Yadav has 2 hattricks in international cricket against his name which came against West Indies and Australia.

The second unofficial fifty over game was played at the M.A Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. When New Zealand A were on 219-7, Kuldeep Yadav was brought back into the attack as he dismissed Logan Van Beek, Joe Walker and Jacob Duffy in the 47th over and that meant New Zealand collapsed with all their wickets falling.

Van Beek was dismissed when he was caught at point by Prithvi Shaw, and then Walker got a nick and was caught behind by the India A captain Sanju Samson. Kuldeep Yadav then destroyed the woodwork as he bowled Jacob Duffy through the gate to complete his hat-trick.

Kuldeep at the end of his spell had four wickets to his credit as he ended up with excellent figures of 4 for 51 from his spell. This is what Kuldeep Yadav had to say about the hattrick:

“When you fail, you learn. When I came back to the Indian side in January. I was not afraid of failure, I wanted to enjoy the game. My focus is to keep hitting the good lengths. (Getting) wickets is not in my hands…just want to bowl in good areas,” Kuldeep said after the match.

“To be honest, when I got injured, coming back from there, understanding my rhythm was very important. I was a little bit slow. After surgery, I have changed that rhythm, bowling with more effort and more control.” Yadav had undergone a surgery after sustaining a knee injury during the IPL in September last year,” he added.

The match was a good one for India A as they have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. India A first skittled out the visitors for just 219 on the board and then chased it down in the end with 4 wickets in hand.
