If the discussion is about what Yorkshire has given to England Cricket then undoubtedly, Joe Root’s name will be discussed on top among those few gems of Yorkshire. He has established himself in the list of all-time great batters who have played this beautiful game so far.
Scoring more than 10,000 runs, Root is on the top of the list of leading run-scorers among currently active batters in the Test Cricket. After quitting the duty of England’s National Team’s captaincy, the 31-year-old has continued his sensational batting form against New Zealand in the home Test series.
Recently, he has also won hearts with his beautiful gesture for a young fan while going to the dressing room. Root also talked about his experience with the fan while talking with Michael Atherton after the day’s play.
“Signing an autograph in the middle of a test match in things. I mean he will remember this the rest of his life but how do you switch in and out of the focus of being a test match batsman, and then making a lad’s day like that pretty easy. really that was me 20 years ago, you know I used to come to test matches and be hassling people like NASA or Athens for a signature yourself,” Root was quoted as saying in conversation with Michael Atherton on Sky Sports Cricket.

“It made my day so any opportunity to try and put a smile on your kid’s face, get them wanting to come back and enjoy another day at the test match. At test cricket, keep enjoying what is in my opinion that the greatest format of the game is really important. A small easy job for any of the current players to do so really nice to see that reaction. You know 10-year-old me would have been buzzing so if there’s any way I can try and give that to someone else then.” He concluded the conversation.
